June was a month of growth, learning, and progress for Climate Care CBO. We continued to build on our core
initiatives while exploring new opportunities to enhance our community’s resilience and sustainability. Key activities
this month included our participation in a valuable resource mobilization and proposal writing training, which
provided our team with essential skills to secure funding and support for future projects. On the ground, our poultry
farm faced both challenges and recovery, with fluctuations in egg production and an unfortunate incident involving
the loss of chicks. However, our Mavuno Bora project saw positive developments as farmers began harvesting their
crops and preparing for the next planting cycle. Additionally, the water pan project took a significant step forward
with an on-site inspection by the engineer, paving the way for the next phase of implementation.
Resource Mobilization and Proposal Writing Training

This month, Climate Care was invited by IJM to participate in a 3-day training on Resource Mobilization and Proposal Writing. The training was an excellent opportunity for capacity-building and knowledge enhancement in the areas of fund-raising, project development, and effective proposal writing. We gained practical insights into various strategies for resource mobilization and how to craft compelling proposals to secure funding for future projects. This new skill set will be instrumental in advancing our organization’s goals and ensuring sustainable growth.
Poultry Farm Update
• Chicks Health: Overall, the chicks are doing well. However, we experienced an unfortunate incident when one of our dogs killed 63 chicks. This was a significant loss for us, but we have taken necessary precautions to prevent any similar incidents in the future.
• Egg Production: We observed a dip in egg production during the reporting period, with only 4 eggs collected on one particular day. Fortunately, the situation is improving, and egg production has risen steadily to 12 eggs per day as of now. We anticipate that with continued care and proper management, egg production will continue to increase.
Mavuno Bora Farmers group Update
• Crop Harvesting: The Mavuno Bora project is progressing well. The farmers have successfully harvested their crops and are already planning for the next planting cycle. In preparation, a nursery has been set up for the next season’s crops. The farmers are eager to plant again, and we are hopeful that the upcoming planting season will be fruitful, continuing to provide sustainable livelihoods for the community.

Water Pan Project
• Site Inspection: The water pan project is moving forward, and the engineer assigned to the project is currently on-site conducting an inspection. This will help ensure that all technical requirements and quality standards are met before proceeding with the next phase of the project
Next Steps & Actions:
- Poultry Farm: Continue to monitor the chicks’ health and egg production, and implement the necessary security measures.
- Mavuno Bora: Assist farmers with the next planting cycle and ensure that the nursery is well-maintained for optimal crop growth.
- Water Pan Project: The engineer’s feedback will be reviewed, and work will continue to ensure the water pan project proceeds as planned.
Thank you for your continued support. We remain committed to improving the lives of our community members through sustainable practices and projects.
