Monthly Report APRIL 2026

April has been a month of growth, innovation, and renewed energy at Climate Care CBO as we continue strengthening community resilience through climate-smart agriculture and sustainable farming practices.

Launch of “Sikiliza Sauti Yetu: Dunia Inaita!” Project

We are excited to announce the successful launch of the Sikiliza Sauti Yetu: Dunia Inaita!
Project. Through this initiative, Climate Care CBO was awarded a grant aimed at strengthening the farm components and improving sustainability within our model farm operations

This support marks a major milestone in enhancing our climate-smart agricultural systems and empowering local farmers with practical solutions for food security and resilience.

Strengthening the Farm Infrastructure

Through the grant support, we successfully introduced:

Construction of a solar panel stand

A new solar power unit equipped with a lithium battery system, improving reliable  energy access at the farm.

solar panels at the foh farm

A feed-making unit comprising:

o A pellet making machine

o A solar dryer

These additions will significantly reduce feed costs while improving feed quality and  sustainability through locally produced organic feeds.

Revival and Expansion of Azolla Production

The Azolla component has been successfully revived and is making excellent progress. To  support the new feed-making unit, we are currently setting up additional Azolla ponds to increase  production capacity.

New azolla Ponds at the Farm

This initiative continues to play a key role in reducing poultry feed expenses while promoting  environmentally friendly farming practices.

Crop Production Progress

Crop production at the farm is progressing well:

  • The maize crop is healthy and currently undergoing weeding.
  • We have expanded vegetable production through planting:
    • Okra
    • Kales

These crops continue to support nutrition, demonstration learning, and income generation activities at the farm.

Introduction of Rabbit Keeping

As part of diversifying our farm enterprises, we have introduced rabbit keeping at the farm. This new component will contribute to sustainable income generation, organic manure production, and training opportunities for community members interested in small livestock farming.

Looking Ahead

We remain committed to building a sustainable and climate-resilient farming model that empowers communities through innovation, environmental conservation, and practical agricultural solutions.

We thank all our partners, supporters, and community members for walking this journey with us.
